Drones Technology Amazing Development

On May 1, the company EHang Manufacturer of Drones made a flight demonstration of their Drones, They made a display with 1300 Drones flying at the same time and all of them controlled by a single computer, before a crowd of approximately 100,000 people.

The event was held on an old wall called Xi’an and it was something really extraordinary, for two reasons, the first was the show itself, it was the first time you saw something similar, the noise made it feel like there was a huge swarm of bees, it was an unparalleled demonstration of Light and Color, they also created incredible graphics with drawings, letters and numbers that could be seen from miles away; The second reason was that although there were some small problems mainly caused by the interference of the electronic devices of the spectators, I think it was a technological success to be able to fly that number of devices without there being any interference between them. Some of them left the training but It was caused mainly by the interference of cell phones of the public.

The EHang Company used for the demonstration Quadricopters Ghostdrone 2.0 of regular sale, you can see on the screen how they came and went changing the training as scheduled and in full screen we can see some devices that lost the connection and it was due to the electronic interference that received, in fact it was the problem although it happened was very small if we take into account the magnitude of the event.

The company EHang was included in the book Güines for having set a world record by operating the largest number of unmanned aerial vehicles simultaneously, which has been the largest demonstration that has been done so far.

We had previously seen similar shows but they had been made with 156 Drones, another of them was with 300 and there was a third demonstration with approximately 1000 Drones recently, that shows me the enormous progress that this technology is having and makes me think about the future , until where it is going to arrive, I am even sure that there will come a time when it will influence the presentation of fireworks, and I also see that it will have implications on Advertising, apart from many other activities that the Drones are making life a lot easier for everybody.

Every day the use of Drones expands, those small Unmanned aerial devices and its use goes from using them for fun to make impressive Photographs and videos, also to deliver goods of all types, from Pizzas and Hamburgers, to a huge variety of products or medical supplies.

This year many people have saved their lives thanks to this new marvel of technology, according to DJI, which is today one of the most important manufacturers of these products, 53 people saved their lives, but they are  taking into account only three countries, USA. China and Canada, as if the rest of the world does not exist, and not only does, it is also full of Drones, All Latin America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia, according to the news I hear every day and all the isolated reports that exist on the Internet, four or five times more people have saved their lives  than what DJI Reported, The Drones have also been used to save animals too, they have served to reforest large areas, fumigate insecticides and release fertilizer, they are also used to distribute mosquitoes and flies that have been previously sterilized and in that way it is possible to exercise control over pests and some diseases, they are used to make studies with reports of thermal infrared photography, also the fire and police departments in several countries and many cities are using them because  have realized all the advantages they can get doing it, Now almost every TV. Report is produced using Drones.

In some cases the Drones have also been used illegally, there are reports of drones that have been used to bring drugs and cell phones to prisoners in a Jail, or to transport drugs across the United States border with Mexico, In England the pilot  of a drone was arrested  when was spying in private homes; Really when something good and useful is happening  in life, there is always somebody who finds the way to use it in a criminal form , there is not to much that can be done, because unfortunately that is the idiosyncrasy of human being.

Is something really new, they have made a mixture of technologies taking some characteristics of the Spark and many things of the Mavic Pro and the Phantom 4.

The Mavic Air is smaller than the Mavic pro, but it is a little bigger than the Spark, it has a weight of (450 Grams approximately) 0.95 Pounds but is coming with a new Gimbal of 3 axis that even seems to be more robust than the one of the Mavic, the camera that has is 1 / 2.3 inches with a sensitivity a bit limited to low light, in 24 mm. The focus of this model is wider than the 28 mm. The Mavic Pro. Its wide-angle, fixed-focus camera like the Mavic Pro has been a great DJI decision because in reality all cameras with small sensors and wide-angle lenses do not require automatic focusing, everything that is more than three feet of the camera is automatically set to Infinity, the 1080 video mode can record video at 120 frames per second to make slow motion.

The Mavic Air has advanced functions to return to the starting point whether it is requested or when it detects that its battery charge is low or has any other problem. It also has more forward and backward sensors that protect Drone of buildings, trees and other obstacles making it much safer.

The only negative thing about this new Drone is its lower quality Radio transmission, which is based on Wi Fi technology like that of the Phantom, while its Big Brother the Mavic Pro is based on a much more advanced technology that is the OcuSync Link. . The Mavic Air radio connection is similar to the Spark and the Phantoms, while the Mavic Pro has a range of approximately 7 kilometers the Mavic Air can reach only 4, which at the end is not so bad because it fits well enough to FAA regulations that require keeping the line of sight, the biggest problem of reception can happen in urban areas that are very congested with an infinity of Wi Fi connections.

It has great advantages, it is much more compact and lighter than the Mavic Pro, has its Gimbal 3-axis

Actually and taking into account all the pros and cons is a Drone with an affordable price, although it does not have the reach of the Mavic Pro, but with all it has is perfectly usable and with its three axis camera can create some really impressive videos, to my way of seeing it I think it has many more good than bad things, it is really convincing and I honestly believe that it is a good purchase.

When we see a small flying object, we think “it’s a Drone”, almost everyone has seen and knows them, some people have already used them, others have seen them flying or have seen videos and photos.

Actually Drones have been around for a long time, I remember that many years ago we built model airplanes guided by cables and then we started to build some models remote controlled by radio, we used gas engines at that time and did not really flight to far, but they flew extraordinarily well and were very funny, I remember that at that time the electronics had not evolved with miniaturization yet and we were using a series of bulbs resistors and capacitors as well as very voluminous electronics, then came the transistors, the logic gates and the diodes, the integrated circuits and all the elements were reduced with the new technology of miniaturization, before that we needed a box of 30 centimeters for the transmitter, now the same thing fits almost in a small box of phosphors, now we also have satellites, with GPS and higher frequencies and thanks to all that new technology we can now fly and control a Drone or unmanned aerial vehicle at distances as far as 7 to 8 Kilometers, and in some cases much more than that.

The first drones that arrived were those created for military purposes, they helped to the development of Drones Technology, now they have begun to be build them for Civil and Personal use, the new commercial drones are working in a number of different activities such as surveillance of Power Lines, Photogrammetry, Prevention and control of fires, Photography and Video, saving people in distress, Transport of medicines, Location of people in cases of disaster using infrared cameras, Cattle Control, Agriculture, Mining, etc.

Actually they are a lot cheaper than using a helicopter for an infinite number of uses that is creating an enormous growth in the sales and service of these vehicles generating at the same time a great challenge for the Governments to be able to create Laws and Regulations to help control these new activities properly.
